Overview

Prepare for an exciting, challenging and rewarding career in healthcare! Learn to assist physicians by performing functions related to the administrative and clinical responsibilities of a medical office. This program is designed to meet standards set by the Affordable Care Act. You will learn the skill-sets required by regional employers and prepare for the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) national exam.

National Certification Preparation

Upon successful completion of this training program (in either format described below), you will be eligible to sit for the National Health career Association (NHA) Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) national examination.

Eligibility

To be eligible, you are required to:

• Be a minimum age of 18 years old
• Possess a high school diploma, GED or HiSet
• Comply with 91抖阴鈥檚 application procedures
• Comply with 91抖阴鈥檚 tuition requirements

Class Format

Get your certification in this Medical Assistant apprenticeship program with 480 hours of training in these areas:

• 188 hours, in-person classroom, theory
• 132 hours, in-person hands-on, lab experience
• 160 hours, in-person practicum, at approved clinical site

Technical Standards

91抖阴 must ensure that patients/clients are not placed in jeopardy by students during learning experiences. Therefore, students in lab and practicum must demonstrate sufficient emotional stability to withstand the stresses, uncertainties, and changing circumstances that characterize patient/client care responsibilities. Furthermore, you are expected to have the emotional stability required to exercise sound judgment, accept direction and guidance from a supervisor or faculty member, and establish rapport and maintain sensitive interpersonal relationships with employees, patients/clients and their families.

• Applicants must be in good physical and mental health.
• Standards have been established to provide guidance to students as to skills and abilities required to function successfully in the profession.
• Good manual dexterity and sufficient tactile ability to assess pressure temperature, position, vibration, and movement.
• Sufficient hearing to assess patient needs and to understand instructions, identify emergency signals, and engage in telephone conversations.
• Sufficient visual acuity to observe patients, manipulate equipment, and interpret data; visual acuity sufficient to ensure a safe environment, identify color changes, read fine print/writing and calculate fine calibrations.
• Sufficient strength to perform CPR and the ability to stand for extended periods of time.
