]]> The 4th annual By Degrees Climate Summit brings together journalists and community members to explore resilience in action. This year’s focus is water quality and environmental pollutants including PFAS and other emerging contaminants and how communities are addressing them through research, advocacy, and collaboration.

Investigative journalist Mariah Blake is the keynote speaker. Blake is the author of They Poisoned the World: Life and Death in the Age of Forever Chemicals, an investigation into the global impact of PFAS that was named one of the best books of 2025 by The Washington Post and Scientific American.

The program includes a solutions-oriented panel hosted by NHPR’s Jason Moon featuring Mara Hoplamazian and their work on NHPR’s Safe to Drink podcast, followed by a live Q&A with Mara and panelists, Victor Davila, Community Organizer and Clean Water Director of Slingshot Vermont and Julia Varshavsky, MPH, Ph.D. , Assistant Professor of Environmental Health, Northeastern University.

]]> This information session is online over Zoom.

Information regarding pre-reqs, the admissions process, the entrance exam, academic requirements (nursing and general education), and competitive ranking is covered in detail during the session. Participants will receive the necessary paperwork to apply for admission and will have the opportunity to ask questions. A follow up individual appointment may be scheduled if necessary.

  • There is no fee to attend and registration is not required.
  • The information session starts promptly at the posted time.
  • Please be a few minutes early as late arrivals will not be accommodated.

Students may complete the RN program on a part time basis, however, nursing and clinical components must be completed concurrently. Students graduate with an Associate degree of Science in Nursing and are eligible to take the RN state board exam. Students may continue on to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at various four-year nursing programs.
