Dr. Bicknell has served with distinction as the leader of 91 since 2020. Immediately before\, he was 91 Vice President of Academic Affairs from 2016 to 2019. Prior to CCSNH\, his higher education administrative career included a six-year tenure at Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology (BFIT) in Boston\, as well as leadership roles at Montserrat College of Art and The Boston Conservatory. \n“This is a bittersweet moment for me\, but also a unique opportunity to serve young people in my home state\,” explained Brian Bicknell. “This has been an incredible experience and although I am excited about my next steps\, my heart will always be tied to 91\, its staff and faculty and the amazing students I have had the honor of coming to know during my tenure.” \nAppointed president in 2020\, Bicknell successfully navigated through the pandemic and strengthened 91 academic offerings through his more than four years at the helm. His open-door policy with legislators\, businesses\, community organizations\, and individuals helped to increase awareness of the resources 91 offers its students and the greater community. Under his leadership\, 91 workforce development programs have expanded to better meet the needs of industry\, including healthcare and defense – working with area hospitals and manufacturers. During Bicknell’s tenure\, 91’s partnership with ARMI and Dean Kamen has evolved\, connecting students to training and 21st century jobs. He has also deepened community connections by welcoming GEAR UP and the Parent Leadership Training Institute to campus. \n“Throughout his tenure with 91\, Dr. Bicknell has been a tireless advocate for students\, a champion for equity\, and a great partner to stakeholders in the Manchester community\, building strong ties to employers\, community-based organizations\, and with the Manchester School District\, said CCSNH Chancellor Mark Rubinstein. “I wish Brian well\, knowing that he is about to bring that same energy and impact to Boston.” \nThe CCSNH Board of Trustees has nominated CCSNH Vice Chancellor Chuck Lloyd to serve as interim president of 91\, beginning July 5th when Bicknell steps down. Lloyd will serve through January 5\, 2025. CCSNH has contracted with a search firm to identify a permanent replacement in 2025. \n“I am excited to work more closely with the great faculty\, staff\, and leadership at 91 as interim president in the coming months\,” said Interim President Chuck Lloyd. “There is a great deal of innovation and collaboration occurring at 91 that aligns with our statewide strategic initiatives\, and many strong community partnerships that enhance opportunities in New Hampshire’s largest city. I anticipate being able to leverage my history in the system\, experience as a previous college president\, and my role as vice chancellor\, to support and amplify the great work at 91.” URL:/event/manchester-community-college-bids-fond-farewell-to-president-brian-bicknell/ CATEGORIES:General Calendar END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
